Gadget Limiting Use of Cell Phone on Theaters

What is more annoying than a cell phone ringing in a middle of an engrossing film being shown inside the theater? Surely, anyone would like to get up and give some good words to the inconsiderate fellow. I really can’t understand why people simply would not turn off their mobile phone before entering the movie theater.

Good news for film aficionados who love going to theaters totally devoid of cell phone rings. A gadget that blocks incoming cell phone calls in the theater is now installed in many theaters in the US today. It prevents owners from using the cell phone once inside the movie theater itself. This effectively disables the mobile phone from doing and receiving phone calls.

Of course, to prevent unwanted commotion among mobile phone owners who might wonder why their units are not working, theater managers post on the box office or any conspicuous place in the lobby of the theater a sign that says “there is no cell phones signal inside the theater so making and receiving calls are not possible.”

The sign also advises people that if they need to make calls, they have to go out to the theater lobby to do so.

This is definitely a great device as who would want distractions inside the theater especially if you are totally engrossed in the movie being shown. What’s also great is that there are no more confrontations happening between an offending cell phone user and the affected patrons.

On the other hand, theater management will surely not have to deal with complaints about the use of mobile phone inside the theater. Isn’t this a great way of stopping the abuse of some people when using cell phones.
